How OBP Fosters Employee Engagement and Professional Growth

When we think of professional growth, we often think it’s all about the credentials. We visualize outstanding awards, perfect evaluations, and framed certificates. While that’s all still important and impressive, we go further to make people feel valued not just as our employees, but as growing individuals.



We may think of professional growth as something that stands alone, but that’s not the case. We take a holistic approach to valuing our employees, recognizing that their well-being and engagement is just as important as their professional development. It’s the same idea as a work-life balance situation! To truly grow, we must learn through active, well-rounded experiences that engage both our individuality and professionalism.

It might all sound a bit wordy or complex, but here’s how we actually put it into practice!

Learning and Development


Professional growth is all about continuous improvement, whether in skills, qualities, or work experiences, and we believe that one of the best ways to learn is from hands-on, in-person training where our employees can interact with one another. This creates an environment where knowledge can be easily shared and expanded upon for better retention, especially when the topic is technical in nature.

That’s exactly what we aim for when we conduct workshops like the (ISMS) Risk Assessment Training and Workshop and the Lean Six Sigma and Operational Excellence Workshop. This is a way not just to help employees across various departments improve in what they do, but also to help them earn industry certifications that boost their credibility as professionals.

Another way to foster professional growth is by attending conferences featuring industry leaders in the field. A recent one we joined was Graphika Manila where our marketing team learned from different types of well-established creatives—from directors, animators, artists, designers, and more.

These are not one-off events, either. We are committed to our employees’ growth every step of the way by providing them with up-to-date learning opportunities every quarter, because acquiring knowledge or skills doesn’t have a deadline

Leadership Opportunities and Promotions


It doesn’t stop there. Our employees’ career growth extends beyond regular training. Those who consistently excel in their work and radiate with certainty and inspiration are up for a promotion in no time! At OBP, leadership opportunities are very much present: with Operators turning into Coaches, or Team Leaders and Supervisors into Managers.



Career growth is achievable across roles even though leadership is not really your preferred path. For instance, our Helpdesk Officers can get promoted into Business Systems Analysts—from technical support to strategic, client-facing analysis.

Employee Recognition and Rewards


Employee recognition is something we approach with intention and care, and we learned that the more visible our support is, the more it stays with them. That’s why every month, quarter, and year, we reward our top performers in each department and team. This is announced during our general assemblies, making our awardees feel seen, praised, and celebrated.



We also highlight our clients’ commendations to employees, honoring the amazing things they do behind the scenes. And it’s not all about work! We know how important engagement is in any work environment, so our employees’ creativity and enthusiasm also deserve rewards and recognition. We encourage this through fun events, competitions, and games!



Team-Building Activities and Company Retreats


Let’s not forget that there’s more to life behind office walls! Conducting team-building activities and company retreats further strengthens employee relationships, but how is it different with any other event besides being outdoors?

Well, team-building is more than just doing something together. It’s a shared experience that becomes part of the team’s core memories. It’s a chance for employees to learn more about each other, unwind, and enjoy something out of the ordinary.

Some of our recent out of town excursions include Boracay, Batangas, and Zambales—places known for their beautiful beaches and vibrant local culture!
