Responsibilities

Client Specific tasks: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Offshore Accountant to support our Australian accounting practice. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client books, preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), processing payroll, administering SMSFs, and assisting with general tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & Accounts Maintenance

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers using Xero or -
  • MYOB
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

• BAS Preparation

  •  Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (monthly and quarterly)
  • Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and other tax reporting requirements
  • Liaise with Australian accountants for final BAS lodgements

• Payroll Processing

  •  Process payroll accurately and in compliance with Fair Work and ATO guidelines
  • Manage superannuation contributions and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
  • Maintain employee records and leave accruals

• SMSF Administration

  • Prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns
  • Process investment transactions and contributions
  • Ensure compliance with ATO regulations for SMSFs
  • Use BGL360 for SMSF accounting and reporting

• Tax Compliance

  •  Assist in the preparation of individual, partnership, trust, and company tax returns
  • Maintain understanding of current Australian tax legislation and ATO guidelines

• Client File Management

  • Support the Senior Accountant/Manager with timely updates on file progress
  • Respond to internal queries and ensure accuracy across all client deliverables

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Australian accounting/bookkeeping
  • Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and tax compliance
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and BGL360
  • Prior experience with SMSF administration
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be amenable to work on site in Ortigas Pasig and Cubao
  • Must be amenable to work in any shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an offshore accounting team or BPO environment
  • Knowledge of cloud-based work management tools
