Client Specific tasks:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Offshore Accountant to support our Australian accounting practice. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client books, preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), processing payroll, administering SMSFs, and assisting with general tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping & Accounts Maintenance
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers using Xero or -
MYOB
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• BAS Preparation
Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (monthly and quarterly)
Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and other tax reporting requirements
Liaise with Australian accountants for final BAS lodgements
• Payroll Processing
Process payroll accurately and in compliance with Fair Work and ATO guidelines
Manage superannuation contributions and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
Maintain employee records and leave accruals
• SMSF Administration
Prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns
Process investment transactions and contributions
Ensure compliance with ATO regulations for SMSFs
Use BGL360 for SMSF accounting and reporting
• Tax Compliance
Assist in the preparation of individual, partnership, trust, and company tax returns
Maintain understanding of current Australian tax legislation and ATO guidelines
• Client File Management
Support the Senior Accountant/Manager with timely updates on file progress
Respond to internal queries and ensure accuracy across all client deliverables
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Australian accounting/bookkeeping
Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and tax compliance
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and BGL360
Prior experience with SMSF administration
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Must be amenable to work on site in Ortigas Pasig and Cubao
Must be amenable to work in any shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an offshore accounting team or BPO environment
