Responsibilities
Responsible for managing a bookkeeper on a day-to-day basis, as well as preparing monthly closing/reporting packages.
Manage the Accounts Payable cycle (as needed)
Prepare daily cash forecasts and manage cash needs
Track loan activity
Review monthly borrower billing statements
Tax filings:
Coordinate with external tax preparers to ensure all tax filings are filed on a timely basis
Reconcile the numbers in tax filings
Assist with quarterly debt compliance reports
Provide quarterly flux analysis
Assist with SEC compliance related requests
Provide thoughts on potential process improvements
Assist with ad hoc reporting and forecasting
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience
Experience in Private Equity/Hedge Funds or Real Estate a plus
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and internal controls
Experience with entries, general ledger functions, monthly closing, and financial statements
Proficient with QuickBooks and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
Detail oriented
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while adhering to deadlines
Strong work ethic and team player attitude
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
