Responsibilities
The Purchasing Manager will lead our procurement team and optimize the organization’s purchasing processes. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining strong supplier relationships, managing budgets, and contributing to overall organizational efficiency.
Develop and implement procurement and purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Manage relationships with existing vendors and see opportunities for collaboration and improvement.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Work with budget constraints while optimizing costs and improving procurement efficiency.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock, optimizing supply chain efficiency.
Lead and manage a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
Identify and mitigate potential risk in the supply chain, such as disruptions or changes in market conditions.
Collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
Generate and analyze reports on key procurement metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas of improvement.
Draft, review and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and in compliance with company policies.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in procurement operations.
Perform cost scenario/cost benefit analysis and benchmarking.
Determine the quantity and timing of purchasing and deliveries of supplies based on historical data.
Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities at the behest of the Director of Business Operations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field
3 to 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role
Experience/knowledge in asset management and vendor management
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
Excellent analytical & critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in using procurement, asset & vendor management software/s and MS Office Suite
Knowledge of relevant industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics
Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
