On October 15, 2025, OBP employees joined the annual fire drill at Robinsons Cyberscape Gamma and Beta Buildings. They collaborated with other companies in the Ortigas Central Business District, demonstrating excellent coordination and achieving the fastest response time among all participants.
“We were able to evacuate within 14 minutes. It was more organized compared to previous drills,” shared Venus, the floor captain of the 18th floor. The drill’s success was also due to the teamwork between her and RJ, the floor captain of the 17th floor, who ensured that all employees used the designated exits safely and efficiently.
“Participating in fire drills is essential for everyone’s safety. A company’s main responsibility should be the well-being of its employees,” RJ emphasized.
In times of calamity, being prepared and having the right mindset makes all the difference. According to Billy, one of OBP’s safety officers, “The right mindset during a disaster is to stay calm. This way, we can respond properly in any emergency situation.”
While no one can predict when emergencies will happen, it’s always best to be ready. Elaine, one of OBP’s nurses, reminded employees to keep essential items on hand. “We should always have a whistle and a flashlight,” she said. “Power banks and some cash are also important in case there’s a power or network outage.”
“Being ready today means being safer tomorrow.” That’s the mantra of Ilene, OBP’s front desk admin assistant. With employee safety at the heart of her daily work, she believes that preparedness is key. “Being prepared helps us save lives, lessen fear, protect property, and recover faster when disasters happen,” Ilene shared.
This successful drill is a powerful testament to a simple, vital truth: being ready today means being safer tomorrow. From the coordinated leadership of our floor captains and safety officers to the proactive participation of every employee, OBP’s commitment to preparedness is clear. We are not just practicing for a drill; we are cultivating a culture of safety where every individual is empowered and equipped to respond with calm and competence. By investing in these moments of practice today, we are building a stronger, more resilient, and safer tomorrow for our entire OBP community.
