The Rise of the Net Navigators: OBP’s First Podium Finish at the BPO Olympics

Winning has long been ingrained in our subconscious. While these moments of triumph do feel sweet, they are only part of the story—the cherry on top. Real growth happens in the quiet—during the long hours of effort no one notices, in setbacks that test our resolve, and through mistakes that teach us more than success ever will. It’s in these moments that resilience grows, skills are sharpened, and character is strengthened—unshaken in spirit, unstoppable in determination.

For the first time, OBP proudly joined the BPO Olympics, making its debut in the Volleyball tournament. Representing the company with passion and determination, our team—the Net Navigators—went head-to-head with powerhouse squads from Concentrix, Accenture, Conduent, Datacentric, and Ernst & Young in a series of exciting matches that kickstarted on June 22, 2025.

As one of the Net Navigators’ sharp setters, Kath took charge of building plays and driving strategy on the court. Her leadership and game sense pushed the team forward and kept their competitive spirit alive. Clinching 3rd place is a proud milestone for OBP—powered by the passion and teamwork of every player. “I’m happy and grateful that OBP gave us this chance,” Kath said. “It let us showcase both our skills and the strength of OBP’s growing volleyball community.”

While the Net Navigators celebrated their podium finish—a sweet and hard-earned victory—the journey wasn’t without challenges. With tough matches and setbacks, each game became an avenue for open communication and a chance to grow stronger together as a team. “We were there to compete, and it’s true that you don’t always win,” Kath reflected. “What mattered was focusing on our opportunities, keeping communication open, and trusting one another more. We fought hard in every match, and that’s what I’m most proud of.”

For Jaymie, one of the heads of the Net Navigators, what she’s most proud of isn’t just the win—it’s the bond built along the way. “We’ve known each other for a while, but we weren’t that close at first. Through the training, we grew tighter as a team. Because of that, teamwork and commitment naturally followed. In our first game, we didn’t really mesh. But by the last few matches, everyone played their part—and that made all the difference.”

Securing a podium spot at the BPO Olympics marks a historic first for OBP. Team Captain Aie of the Net Navigators admitted, “Of course, we wanted the championship. But seeing how far we’ve come makes me proud and hopeful for what’s next. Next year, we’ll be back stronger.” For him, the journey matters as much as the result. “The trophy is nice, but the real win is the lessons we carry with us. They build our character and fuel us to keep going.”

The OBP spirit set the court ablaze at this year’s BPO Olympics. The Net Navigators showcased their skill and teamwork, while colleagues packed the sidelines with unwavering support—cheering from the first serve to the final point. More than just a competition, this season became a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and the strong sense of community that defines OBP. Beyond the games, it was a true victory for the OBP spirit—one that we'll always remember, 'ours'.
